About the artist

Athénaïs is originally from the Drôme, but it was in London that she began writing, composing and performing her own songs at the age of 20, while still a student. A self-taught musician, she learned to play guitar and performed on open stages or open mic nights several times a week, even meeting Ed Sheeran before he exploded onto the scene.

After six years in England, she moved to Montpellier and played a string of concerts on small local stages, as well as supporting artists such as Jain, Pauline Croze, Keren Ann and Rover. In 2016, she signed with independent label Le Petit Chat Noir and released her debut EP Ciao Ciao, followed by her album Artichoke Heart in 2017.

After a long break, Athénaïs returned in 2022 with new pop songs this time told in Franglais. She releases three self-produced singles: La Femme Jetable, A Broken Heart in Paris (in French) and Tell Me Something Bad (in English). The common thread remains the same: failed love stories. On stage, accompanied by her guitar, she confides in her audience and laughs with them about her adventures, in which she hopes some will recognise themselves.

The show

"Go F♥︎ck Yourself" is the title of Athénaïs' new musical show. On stage, with her folk guitar and her telephone, she recounts a decade of non-love in song.

From love bombing to ghosting, via situationships, she paints a social fresco of the golden age of dating apps with her bluntness and franglais.

Whether in "La Femme Jetable" or "A Broken Heart in Paris", Athénaïs delivers a humorous, self-deprecating vision of the age of the commodification of love.
